In times of crisis, generosity shines brightest. At Croton Animal Hospital, we’re fortunate to be part of a compassionate and proactive community that steps up to help animals in need. After the recent hurricanes devastated areas in the South, displacing countless pets and wildlife, we were moved to take action.

Thanks to the kindness of our clients, we raised $290 in donations to support pet relief efforts for victims of these natural disasters. As a token of our appreciation and to double the impact, we matched those contributions dollar for dollar, resulting in a total donation of $580 to the ASPCA.

The ASPCA’s Crucial Role in Disaster Relief

The ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) has long been at the forefront of disaster relief efforts for animals. Whether it’s feeding and housing pets rescued from dangerous conditions or coordinating the safe transport of wildlife and displaced animals, the ASPCA ensures no creature is left behind.

Following natural disasters like hurricanes, their teams deploy to affected areas, providing emergency rescue, medical care, and resources to animal shelters overwhelmed by the crisis. Grants, such as the $3 million allocated during Hurricane Helene’s aftermath, enable shelters to stay operational, ensuring displaced pets are fed, housed, and eventually reunited with their families.

The ASPCA’s commitment to animal welfare is why we’re proud to support their efforts. They represent hope and action during chaos—a mission that deeply aligns with our values at Croton Animal Hospital.

A Community with a History of Giving Back

This isn’t the first time our community has rallied together for an important cause. Croton Animal Hospital clients generously contributed to aid Ukrainian refugees and their pets during the ongoing crisis abroad. The funds supported shelters and animal rescue groups providing critical supplies and care to animals displaced by war.

In another heartwarming effort, our clients participated in a campaign to support local pet rescue organizations. These initiatives helped animals right here in Westchester County find their forever homes and receive much-needed medical care.

Each of these campaigns exemplifies the incredible generosity of the people we serve. Your compassion inspires us to continue giving back and finding ways to make a meaningful impact, whether globally or within our own community.

Why Community Matters in Northern Westchester

We believe the bond between people and pets is unbreakable. It’s this belief that drives our passion for veterinary care and motivates our involvement in charitable giving. But we couldn’t do it without you—our clients, neighbors, and friends.

When you contribute to these initiatives, you’re doing more than just donating money. You’re saving lives, creating safer environments for animals, and proving that the Croton Animal Hospital community—in places like Ossining, Yorktown, Peekskill, and Cortlandt Manor—is filled with people who care.
